Patterson head coach Harry Martin insisted those reports are premature.
"That's not coming from us," Martin said. "We are trying to set something up (a press conference) for next Thursday. I think there are still some things he is considering."
In addition to Seton Hall, the flashy 5-foot-7 guard is considering Baylor, Maryland, Memphis, South Florida and Towson.
If Carr does wind up at Seton Hall, it would be a major image boost for the Pirates and second-year head coach Kevin Willard. Carr made several references to the Big East program on his Twitter account Friday afternoon, fueling reports of a pledge.
Rated the No. 37 prospect in the Class of 2013 by MaxPreps, Carr is a celebrated figure in Baltimore and the subject of countless YouTube highlight mix tapes.
Carr earned National Sophomore of the Year honors in 2010-11 after pouring in over 32 points per game and leading Patterson to Maryland's Class 4A state title game.
Carr and the Clippers are headed to Milwaukee, Wis., to participate in the Under Armour/Brandon Jennings Invitational. Patterson (6-2) will face Price of Los Angeles in the event Saturday night. Carr's individual numbers are down a bit this season (20.5 points per game) but he did pour in 36 points against nationally-ranked Lincoln of Brooklyn, N.Y., in an overtime loss before Christmas.
