LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
Mackenzie Bush of
Bishop Machebeuf (Denver, Colo.) High School in Denver Colo., has been selected as the MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games contested over September 30-October 6.
During her squad's initial five contests of the 2013 campaign, Bush batted a sparkling .765 (13-for-17) with a pair of doubles, nine runs scored and 10 RBIs. The senior center fielder/shortstop also walked three times, managing to reach successfully in 16 of her 20 plate appearances on the week. She hit safely in all five match-ups, posting a perfect 4-for-4 effort with a double, three tallies, and four RBIs during a 22-4 rout of Platte Canyon (Colo.) and went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two walks, a trio of stolen bases and three RBIs in a 14-4 victory over Aurora Central (Colo.).

To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week's award.
The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week will be announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season, with one representative chosen from each of five separate high school regions. During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.
