Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding
performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close
out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state.
Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in
addition to local and state accolades.
Munir Greig of
Coronado (Henderson) is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Nevada Player of the Year. The 6-foot-6 junior guard led the Cougars to a 17-8 record and their first state championship in program history.
For the season, Greig averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest while surpassing 1,000 career points in the process.

In a 60-55 victory over Liberty (Henderson) in the Class 5A state championship game, Greig tallied 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Against a schedule that included 13 games against out-of-state opponents, Greig was a consistent performer in big games as he earned all-tournaments honors at the Tarkanian Classic and the John Wall Holiday Invitational. Against in-state opponents, Coronado went 10-2 and avenged both of those losses in the postseason.
Regarded as the No. 34 overall prospect in the Class of 2027 by Rivals, Greig spent his first two seasons at Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, Pa.), where he helped the Patriots advance to the Class 4A state championship game as a freshman.
