Darrian Miller ran 25 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as
Blue Springs (Blue Springs, Mo.) defeated as Raymore-Peculiar 49-28 in the Class 6A state playoffs.
With his yardage total, the 5-foot-10, 181-pound senior now is the all-time leading career rusher in Missouri large-school history with 6,427 yards, according to the Kansas City Star. The previous record was held by Dalton Krysa of Fort Osage.
The University of Kansas recruit told the Star, "Records are records. It's a milestone, but it's kind of a symbol that I've been blessed with a good offensive line, good people, great coaching staff and just kind of shows what hard work gets you."
Miller, who quickly shook off a slight leg injury in the second quarter, now is the No. 5 all-class rusher and his season is not yet over.
