In this week's power ranking report, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down -- along with everything in between. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Banging Down the Door
Say hello to Wayne: the team broke into the power rankings at the 24th position after its notable last-week performance. It narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past Chadron 30 - 28. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Wayne after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Have a Day
Boone Central/Newman Grove got a 40 - 3 win over Auburn last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Dylan Gentrup. Gentrup earned two touchdowns and 125 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Gentrup among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Points Galore
The match between Columbus and Northwest last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 89 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Northwest beat Columbus 48 - 41. Northwest saw its record improve to 7-3 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
