Coming off a bye
week, No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) looked well rested against
No. 28 Edgewater (Orlando). The Ascenders cruised to a one-sided 48-7
win behind three rushing touchdowns from 4-star running back Kaytron
Allen and a dominate defense. Up next for the top ranked team in the
MaxPreps Top 50 is a road trip to Tennessee against Ravenwood
(Brentwood) on ESPNU.

20 Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.) rolled past No. 44 Hewitt-Trussville
(Trussville, Ala.) in a nationally televised game on ESPNU. Conner
Harrell had another impressive night throwing for over 300 yards and
four touchdowns in the 35-21 win as the Warriors improved to 5-0.
No. 22 American
Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) displayed a dominant defense in its season
opening 7-3 win over No. 36 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.).
Five-star James Williams showed why he is the No. 1 safety in the
country and made a bunch of big-time plays to keep the three-time
defending 3A state champs out of the endzone.
Georgia
featured the other Top 50 matchup as No. 38 North Gwinnett (Suwanee)
cruised to a 21-0 win over No. 33 Parkview (Lilburn) to improve to 3-0.

5 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) scored the games final 28 points and handed
Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.) its first loss of the year with a 28-7
victory. The Rams have outscored their first three opponents 134-41.
No.
34 Valdosta (Ga.) and No. 39 Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) both won
big setting up a huge showdown on Sept. 25 in Rush Propst's
return to his old stomping grounds.
No. 42
Bryant (Ark.) extended its winning streak to 20 as they beat Shedeur
Sanders and a very talented Trinity Christian (Cedar Hill, Texas) squad,
44-40. Austin Ledbetter scored the game-winning touchdown with four
minutes left.
No. 9 Lowndes (Valdosta,
Ga.), No. 14 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah), No. 15 Trinity (Louisville),
No. 23 Pickerington Central (Ohio), No. 32 Hoover (Ala.), No. 45 Mentor
(Ohio), No. 49 Massillon Washington (Ohio) and No. 50 Center Grove
(Greenwood, Ind.) all won on Friday.
No. 35 St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) shutout St. Ignatius (Cleveland) in the only game on Saturday, 17-0.
