Winning the San Francisco Section championship on Thanksgiving is much more than just a tradition these days.
The last two seasons, the winner of the section has gone on to win CIF Division 6-A state bowl championships, Galileo (2017) and Lincoln (2018).
Galileo, which has struggled this season after coach Mark Huynh resigned last season, will not be in the four-team bracket this year.
Lincoln, coming off the school's first 13-0 season, has dominated again in 2019 and figures to be the prohibitive favorite.
The champions have been spread evenly between three schools the last decade with Lincoln, Mission and Galileo all winning three crowns and Washington winning the other.
