Tori Oehrlein of
Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, Minn.) has established herself as one of the most statistically prolific players in high school girls basketball history. Minnesota’s second leading scorer all-time with more than 5,000 career points, she is our pick for Small Town National Player of the Year.
Along with
Oostburg (Wis.) coach Isaiah Ketterhagen, Oehrlein highlights the 30-member Small Town All-American Team, which consists of players from schools with fewer than 1,000 students in a town with a population under 10,000.
At one time, Oehrlein was the leading scorer and rebounder in Minnesota history while also finishing second in assists.
Maddyn Greenway of
Providence Academy (Plymouth, Minn.) eventually surpassed Oehrlein in career points though Oehrlein still ranks in the top two in state history in three key statistical categories.

Oehrlein is also one of just two players in Minnesota history with over 1,000 points, rebounds and assists and she also had 11 quadruple-doubles in her career. She averaged 37.8 points, 15.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists this season.
Ketterhagen guided Oostburg to a second straight Division 3 championship in Wisconsin with a 30-0 record. With his three daughters, Ady, Kinsley and Riley, averaging a total of 48 points between them, the Flying Dutchmen won their games by an average of 34 points per game.
Oostburg finished the season ranked as the top team in Wisconsin and No. 18 in the MaxPreps Top 25. Ketterhagen has a career record of 350-178 in 22 seasons but he is 202-37 in his nine years at Oostburg.
