One week remains in the high school football season, and for now, Washington remains No. 1 in the Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
The Tornadoes captured a Class 4A state title last week and were keeping an eye on games in Texas and California this week.
No. 2 Allen survived a major scare from DeSoto in a Texas classic. Thanks to a late touchdown from Kyler Murray,
Allen came from behind to win 42-35.
In California, De La Salle and St. John Bosco both won, meaning the nation's No. 3 and 4 teams will square off this weekend at the StubHub Center.
Central, whose only loss this season is to No. 1 Washington, rises to No. 5 after a dominant performance against Armwood in the Florida Class 6A title game.
