Under a pouring rain after a week's worth of moisture in Northern California,
Lassen (Susanville) pulled out a 14-7 win at
Corning in a game appropriately tagged "The Mud Bowl."
The contest was predictably watered with turnovers. After the home team took a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter, Lassen scored two unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to win it.
Hunter St Andre scored both touchdowns for Lassen (8-1), according the
Red Bluff Daily News, on runs of 5 and 40 yards, the latter midway through the third quarter.
Cole Parker scored for Corning (7-2).
