The Thundering Herd were up 28-0 at the half after taking the lead on Parker's
touchdown run in the first quarter.
Elk Grove expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. EG
scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Frazier.
Last season's game between the teams also resulted in a 55-6 win for
the Thundering Herd.
Elk Grove entered the contest giving up 21.0 points per game this year.
EG held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Patriots well below the
27.0 points it had been averaging per game.
The Thundering Herd's were coming off a 35-21 triumph over Lincoln the
previous week. The defeat comes as a step back for Beyer, which notched a
27-21 victory over West in its previous outing.
In a non-conference game tilt next week Beyer (1-1) takes on Tracy, and
Elk Grove (2-0) will go up against Del Campo in a non-conference game.
