This big movement in this week's Composite Top 25 rankings was St. John's (Washington, D.C.) dropping nearly out of the Top 10 after falling 24-14 to Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) in the WCAC semifinals. Among a short list of teams to be able to wrestle the season-ending No. 1 ranking from St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), the Cadets end their season 9-1 and drop to a tie for ninth in this week's Composite Top 25.
Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, Ill.) is the only team to jump into the Top 25, landing at No. 24 this week.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
