St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) in the northeast, Colerain (Cincinnati) in the midwest, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) in the south, Cedar Hill (Texas) in the southwest and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) in the west all held on to their No. 1 rankings for the second week in a row.
The top five in each region remained relatively unchanged except for the Southwest and Northeast. The Woodlands (Texas) jumped from No. 11 to No. 4 in the Southwest while St. Augustine Prep (Richland, N.J.) went from No. 17 to No. 5 in the Northeast.
The regional rankings are based on the
MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:
West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska, and Montana.
Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Midwest: Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.
