Though not officially retired, legendary running back Adrian Peterson last played in the NFL during the 2021 season. But younger brother
Frankie Arthur of
Oak Ridge (Conroe, Texas) is carrying on the family tradition of backfield excellence.
A 5-foot-11, 205-pound senior, Arthur was bottled up in a 16-7 season-opening loss against Brenham but bounced back with a pair of touchdowns last week in a 41-34 win over Stratford.

As a junior, Arthur rushed for 1,445 yards and 18 touchdowns. He committed to Central Florida in August over 18 other offers, including Baylor, Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, Oregon and Texas Tech.
Peterson piled up 14,918 yards and 120 touchdowns in his NFL career with the Vikings, Saints, Cardinals, Commanders, Lions, Titans and Seahawks. The former University of Oklahoma and
Palestine (Texas) star has held off on retirement in hopes for another crack at making a team but that looks unlikely as the 2023 season gets underway.
