MaxPreps 2014-15 Hawaii preseason boys basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Kalaheo (Kailua)
2013-14 finish: 19-9
Head coach: Alika Smith

Kalaheo lost its opening game at the state tournament last year, but the Mustangs return a number of key players from that team. Leading the way is 6-4 senior forward Kupa'a Harrison, who earned second team all-state honors as a junior. He's joined by honorable mention all-state pick Kekai Smith, a junior guard, Harrison averaged 15.4 points per game for the Mustangs last season.

2. Punahou (Honolulu)
2013-14 finish: 22-5
Head coach: Darren Matsuda

Punahou lost five times last year, but three of those losses were to state champion 'Iolani. The Buff n' Blue return five of the team's top scorers from last year's team. Although 6-8 center Dana Andrews has graduated, honorable mention all-state guards Justin "JB" Kam (13.3 ppg) and Dayson Watanabe (10.0 ppg) return.

3. St. Louis (Honolulu)
2013-14 finish: 10-12
Head coach: Keith Spencer

Although the Crusaders had a losing record last year, only two players have graduated from the team. St. Louis also returns two players who earned all-state honorable mention status in senior guards Ihaka Johnson and Jimmy Nunuha.

4. Farrington (Honolulu)
2013-14 finish: 24-6
Head coach: Allan Silva

Farrington has been a contender for the state championship since winning the title in 2012, and reached the state finals in 2014, losing to 'Iolani. Farrington loses a trio of all-state honorable mention selections in Isaiah Visoria, Isaiah Smith and league MVP Jacob McEnroe. The top returning player is Tua Unutoa, a 5-10 senior guard who earned honorable mention all-league honors last year.

5. 'Iolani (Honolulu)
2013-14 finish: 25-7
Head coach: Dean Shimamoto

The defending Division I state champions lose just three players from last year's roster. While all-state guard Ikaika Phillip has graduated, 'Iolani returns 6-foot-7 sophomore Hugh Hogland who earned all-state honorable mention honors as a freshman.
