Video: Stat stars - November 11State records fell in Washington, Connecticut and Massachusetts to highlight this week's National High School Football Stat Stars.
Bryce Hoisington of Vashon Island (Wash.) broke the state record for rushing yards in a game and a season, as he ran for 573 yards on 51 carries and nine touchdowns in a 70-31 win over Coupeville. He broke the record of 488 yards set by Branden Curtis of Eisenhower in 2012.
Hoisington also has 2,929 yards for the season, which breaks the record of 2,774 yards set by Kai Van Sickle of Capital in 2012.
In Massachusetts, E.J. Perry of Andover became the first reported quarterback in the state to throw for over 600 yards in a game, as he completed 30 of 49 passes for 636 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-41 loss to Central Catholic (Lawrence, Mass.).
Also in New England, New Canaan's Michael Collins threw nine touchdown passes in a 69-26 win over Trumbull. He tied the mark set by Jason Manson of Bloomfield in 2000.
