On Tuesday, February 14, there was more than "love in the air" at Trinity High School. It may have been Valentine's Day, but the Rocks football team had more exciting things on their minds. Trinity High School is no stranger to victory! The Rocks have a long history of successful football seasons. Bob Beatty coached his football team to yet another Kentucky Class 6A state championship, one out of now NINE title seasons in only the last eleven years! He praised his team on camera for their dedication and for being a "fun group of guys to coach."
People crowded into the gym Tuesday evening to support the Rocks basketball team, but also to congratulate the football team for being nationally recognized for their perfect 14-0 season. The MaxPreps Football Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard was present that evening to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments of Coach Beatty and the entire football squad. Staff Sergeant Nick Vinson from the Kentucky Army National Guard took center court at half time to praise the Rocks for their dedication to get up early and stay late to practice and study the art of winning! It takes a cohesive group of men to give all they have to take them and their teammates to new levels on and off the football field. As the team crowded onto the court wearing their commemorative Army National Guard & Tour of Champions t-shirts, the crowd applauded with pride. The "Minutemen" trophy was presented to the team to honor their achievements and they were also given a nationally ranking rafter banner to hang in their gym with pride! The Rocks were ranked No. 2 in the nation out of over 16,000 high school football teams in the MaxPreps Freeman computer poll!
Trinity High School has an interesting tradition as well. They are used to winning, and every time they win yet another trophy they chant, "Take a bite out of it!" As the "Minutemen," or as it's officially known, the Army National Guard national ranking trophy, was handed from player to player they each literally stopped to take a bite out of it! They are encouraged by their coach to enjoy every victory every time!
