Softball Recap: Belfast Wins Going Away Against Waterville

Belfast never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Waterville Panthers 13-0. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Jordyn MacKay was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. MacKay was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danica Gray, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Autumn Reed-Hall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Belfast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Belfast's record is now 7-1. As for Waterville, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belfast will take on Winslow at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterville, they will face off against Dirigo at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
