Week 1 of the Georgia 5A playoffs features an interesting matchup of teams with contrasting styles Saturday. In the preseason, both were among a handful of favorites to win the state championship. Lowndes is now considered more of a darkhorse after it lost three games during the regular season, including a 34-7 defeat to Colquitt County (Moultrie) on Oct. 14. On the bright side, the Vikings are coming off a bye, giving them an extra week to get things back on track.

The Jaguars had just scored a go-ahead touchdown before kicking off to King's Blake Tibbs (a Georgia recruit). Tibbs returned the kick 82 yards for a touchdown and a 50-49 win.
