The Colorado High School Activities Association released the
bracket Sunday for the state ice hockey playoffs.
As regular-season league champions, Ralston Valley (17-1-1) and Bishop Machebeuf (14-5) earned the top overall seeds. Ralston Valley, which won the Foothills League, and the Buffaloes, winners of the Peak League, will host first-round and quarterfinal games.
In addition, Lewis-Palmer (Palmer Ridge), which finished second in the Peak, and Regis Jesuit, runner-up in the Foothills, also will play host to the first two rounds. Lewis-Palmer (Palmer Ridge) has won the past two state titles.
First-round play begins Feb. 24 at four to-be-determined sites, and the field will be whittled to four by the weekend. The state semifinals (March 2) and championship (March 3) will be played at the University of Denver's Magness Arena.
