Pierce quarterback Abram Scholting threw the football to Ben Brahmer 11 times for 249 yards and three scores, allowing the Bluejays to outscore Aurora 42-14 in the 2022 Class C1 state football championship. In the process, Pierce claimed its fifth state football title and the school's second in three years.
With the convincing win, Mark Brahmer's program also garnered the fourth highest MaxPreps 11-man power ranking over the past decade, which is the basis for this week's Top 10.
While the Bluejays are perched securely in the Top 5 with that high ranking, Larry Martin's 2014 version of Omaha North football and Chad Fox's 2019 Wahoo club look up to no one since they both produced Nebraska's highest MaxPreps power ranking since 2013 in Nebraska's battle of gridiron greatness.
After claiming the 2019 Class A state football title, Bellevue West produced the state's third highest power ranking while 2020 Class A state champion Omaha Westside sits in the No. 5 spot this week.
Elkhorn South landed a pair of clubs in this week's Top 10 while Bellevue West, Pierce and Omaha Skutt Catholic all produced a pair of Top 15 finishes. Wahoo (2019, 81st) and Bellevue West (2019, 86th) both finished in the Top 100 nationally during their dominant runs over the past 10 seasons.
