Shea Patterson, a junior quarterback at
Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.), committed to Ole Miss today.
The
No. 17 recruit overall in the 247Sports Composite and the
No. 3 pro-style quarterback, Patterson picked Ole Miss over the likes of LSU, USC and others.
Patterson threw for 2,428 yards and 38 touchdowns last season. He originally committed to Arizona after his freshman season at Hidalgo (Texas.)
He reopened his recruitment last spring, before deciding on the Rebels. Reports indicate that Ole Miss could be on the verge of hiring Patterson's older brother Sean to the team's coaching staff.
Patterson is the latest quarterback domino to fall in the class of 2016.
Jacob Eason (Georgia),
Malik Henry (Florida State) and
Feleipe Franks (LSU) are other top-rated quarterbacks already off the board. That leaves
Jawon Pass and
KJ Costello as the nation's top uncommitted signal-callers.
