In the middle of Nebraska's second longest girls basketball winning streak, Seward produced the Cornhusker State's top girls basketball team since 2006-07, according to MaxPreps' girls basketball rankings.
The 2009-10 Bluejay squad that went 25-0 and claimed Tom Tvrdy's second straight Class B state title, earned MaxPreps' top power ranking over the last 12 seasons after outscoring three state tournament opponents by an average score of 60-38. Seward eventually won 104 games from 2009-13, second only to Guardian Angels Central Catholic's 111-game winning streak from 2001-06.
One of just five girls basketball programs to make this week's Top 10, Tvrdy's 2010-11 squad went 25-0 and claimed the seventh spot. Two different coaches guided Lincoln Southeast to the Nos. 2 and 3 spots in this week's Top 10. Kara Graham's 2012-13 squad sits second after posting a 45.1 MaxPreps power ranking, two full points behind Seward's 47.1 mark, while John Larsen and the 2007-08 Knights find themselves in the No. 3 spot.
Bellevue West (2008-09) and Lincoln Southeast (2008-09) played their way into the No 4 and No. 5 spot respectively. Both programs lead the way after claiming three spots each in this week's Top 10. Bellevue East and Omaha Central are the other programs to field one of the 10 best basketball teams since MaxPreps started ranking the Cornhusker State's girls basketball teams.
