Damarkus Lodge, the nation's
No. 4-ranked receiver in the 247Composite, has committed to Texas A&M.
Lodge turned down offers from LSU, Baylor and others. He made his announcement on Twitter.
The 6-foot-3 Lodge had a monstrous junior season, catching 73 passes for 1,256 yards and 21 touchdowns, including one against Katy in the Class 5A-II title game that
Cedar Hill (Texas) won 34-24. Lodge rushed for another long touchdown in that game.
His presence on the 2014 Cedar Hill squad is a big reason the Longhorns debuted in the
2014 Top 25 Early Contenders as the nation's No. 1 squad, ahead of Texas rivals DeSoto and Allen.
Lodge earned
MaxPreps Junior All-American honors and was a runner up for National Junior of the Year.
With the addition of Lodge, Texas A&M's star-studded recruiting class for 2015 gets even stronger. The Aggies already have commitments from MaxPreps National Player of the Year
Kyler Murray and five-star defensive tackle
Daylon Mack.
