Christian Academy of Knoxville (Knoxville, Tenn.) captured the lead on a
Charlie High touchdown pass to
Davis Howell with 1:00 remaining in the fourth quarter to upset
Alcoa (Tenn.) 38-36 on Saturday.
After trailing 15-8 at the half, the Tornadoes went ahead on a two-point conversion with 9:00 to go in the fourth.
Christian Academy of Knoxville expanded its lead to eight points entering the fourth quarter. CAK scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Michael Sanderson to Howell.
Alcoa was doomed to defeat after missing a two-point conversion in the the fourth quarter quarter.
High was the top performer for the Knoxville school. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
AHS came in giving up 11.3 points per game this season. The Tornadoes struggled against the Warriors, which came in averaging 46.3 points per game.
Christian Academy of Knoxville also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 24-14.
The loss comes after Alcoa defeated Sweetwater 49-14 last week. With the win CAK extended its winning streak to three games.
