Junior 7-footer helped Mater Dei go 2-0 over the weekend at Nike Extravaganza.


1. (No. 1 last week) Nathan Hale (Seattle), 20-0
Michael Porter Jr. sat out Friday night yet the Raiders still routed Metro League rival Roosevelt (Seattle) 82-45 to close out the regular season. Younger brother Jontay, a 6-foot-9 junior, filled the void with 27 points and 13 rebounds.

2. (2) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), 23-1
Marvin Bagley III went for 43 points and 14 rebounds Saturday night at the Nike Extravaganza as Sierra Canyon dominated Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) 98-72. The Trailblazers are averaging almost 100 points per game over their last seven contests.

3. (3) Chino Hills (Calif.), 25-1
Independent Top 10 No. 5 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) snapped the Huskies' 60-game win streak Saturday night at the Nike Extravaganza. Chino Hills maintains the No. 3 spot in this week's rankings despite the loss but need to get LiAngelo Ball's troublesome ankle healthy before the playoffs.

4. (4) Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.), 22-3
Against Melrose on Friday night, the Mustangs hung 110 points on the board – the fourth time this season East has hit the century mark.

5. (5) Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 26-1
The hosts took care of business at the Nike Extravaganza, beating Village Christian (Sun Valley) 74-42 and St. Augustine (San Diego) 74-62 on back-to-back nights.

6. (6) McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.), 24-0
Isaac Okoro led the way Friday night with 21 points as the Indians beat Hillgrove (Powder Springs) 76-65 to become the first team in school history to finish the regular season undefeated.

7. (7) Jonesboro (Ark.), 22-0
League rivals West Memphis and Marion both took Jonesboro to the wire last week. Red flag or a late-season wake up call for the Golden Hurricane?

8. (10) Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia), 20-2
Disregarding a controversial forfeit Jan. 10, the Panthers are one of the hottest teams in the country. Imhotep has won 19 in a row on the floor, including quality wins over Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), Evanston (Ill.), Montverde Academy (Fla.) and Rainier Beach (Seattle).

9. (11) Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), 19-3
Head coach Steve Turner's team is in the driver's seat in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. But the Eagles know the regular season title will come down to rematches with No. 14 Paul VI on Feb. 14 and No. 13 DeMatha on Feb. 16.

10. (12) Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, Calif.), 22-2
The Knights have really only been tested once this calendar year, a loss to Montverde Academy at the Spalding Hoophall Classic. Aside from that contest, Bishop Montgomery is 10-0 in 2017 with all 10 of those wins coming by 20 points or more.

Will Dillard and Greensboro Day (N.C.) make a big leap this week after completing a season sweep over formerly-ranked league rival Wesleyan Christian Academy.

11. (13) Linden (N.J.), 15-2
Standout junior guard Tavon Jones scored 21 points Saturday to help give Linden a 64-61 win over Hun School (Princeton) – a prep school once home to Ethan Hawke of Training Day fame.

12. (14) Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.), 17-4
Despite a loss Sunday to Independent Top 10 No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), the Celtics climb two spots. How does Patrick School get that type of latitude with four losses? It beat No. 13 DeMatha a week ago and have played arguably the toughest schedule in America with eight games against teams that have appeared in the Indepenedent Top 10 or High School Top 25 this season.

13. (19) DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), 19-3
Bishop McNamara (Forestville) led at halftime Saturday night but the Stags rallied in the second half for a 67-55 win behind 17 points from D.J. Harvey. DeMatha beat No. 14 Paul VI earlier in the week.

14. (9) Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.), 20-3
The Panthers bounced back from the DeMatha loss by thrashing Bishop Ireton (Alexandria) 75-47 on Saturday.

15. (24) Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.), 28-3
John Newman scored 14 points and J.P. Moorman added 12 on Friday night as the Bengals edged formerly-ranked Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point) 55-53. The win gives Greensboro Day sole possession of the Piedmont League lead and the inside track for a No. 1 seed in the NCISAA Class 3A state tournament.

16. (15) Shadow Mountain (Phoenix), 23-0
Behind sophomore Jaelen House (22.3 points per game) and senior Marcus Shaver (21.4), the Matadors finished the regular season with a perfect record and enter the postseason riding a 29-game winning dating back to 2015-16.

17. (16) Basha (Chandler, Ariz.), 26-0
The Bears close out the regular season Tuesday against Perry (Gilbert), who they beat 61-44 back on Jan. 13.

18. (17) Klein Forest (Houston), 27-0
Not to diminish Klein Forest's 27-0 record but the true strength of some of the best teams in Texas this year remains a bit of a mystery because none of them have played each other. Klein Forest, No. 19 Wagner, No. 25 Skyline, Sam Houston Math & Science and Cedar Hill held down the top five spots in last week's Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 6A rankings and none of them have crossed paths.

19. (20) Wagner (San Antonio, Texas), 28-1
The Thunderbirds have a lot of weapons and another broke out Friday in a 91-59 win over Judson (Converse). Freshman Journee Phillips, a 6-1 wing, had 18 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of assists in the runaway victory.

20. (22) Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio), 18-0
Moeller earned a season sweep over Greater Catholic League rival La Salle (Cincinnati) on Friday night with a 47-41 win. The Fighting Crusaders have held 16 of 18 opponents this season to 46 points or less.

21. (21) Champlin Park (Champlin, Minn.), 17-0
Andover limited Champlin Park to a season-low 63 points Friday night but the Rebels still won by 16. Tough game ahead Monday night against 15-1 Maple Grove.

22. (8) Newton (Covington, Ga.), 24-1
Head coach Kim Rivers at Shiloh (Snellville) seems to jump up and bite a national power just about every season and Newton became that victim last week. The Rams remain ranked because their resume is good enough to survive a loss.

23. (NR) Bolingbrook (Ill.), 21-0
Nebraska signee Nana Akenten, a 6-6 guard, scored 31 points Saturday night as the Raiders got an 85-70 showcase win over Belleville East (Belleville). Bolingbrook hasn't faced an opponent from outside of Illinois this season but carries a No. 45 national computer ranking.

24. (NR) Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, Tenn.), 23-2
Winners of 11 in a row, the Eagles only have one loss to a High School Top 25-eligible team this season and that was all the way back on Dec. 17.

25. (NR) Skyline (Dallas), 26-1
Kansas-bound guard Marcus Garrett scored 28 points Tuesday as the Raiders avenged their only loss of the season with a 70-57 win over Richardson.
