The 2021 high school football season in Arkansas kicks off this week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. Riding a 30-game win streak entering the fall, Bryant owns the top spot in our preseason rankings.
Bryant hasn't lost since October 2018, when it fell to North Little Rock in a regular season game. The Hornets avenged that loss a little over a month later to win the Class 7A state title and have gone on to win two more since.
Though Bryant lost a lot of firepower from last year's team, the rest of the state has a lot of catching up to do. In 13 games during the 2020 season, no opponent kept the final margin under 10 points. The Hornets averaged 48.6 points per game, scoring 70 or more twice.
In addition to Bryant, defending 11-man state champions include Greenwood in Class 6A, Pulaski Academy (5A), Shiloh Christian (4A), Harding Academy (3A) and Fordyce (2A).
