Even though many spring teams may feels like the season just began, they are actually heading down the final stretch. The spring season has been full of postponements and cancellations, but in a few weeks tournaments will start and the chase for one last title will be on.
Archbishop Moeller's Cameron Wins No. 400
Longtime Archbishop Moeller baseball coach Mike Cameron recently notched career win No. 400. Cameron has been the head man at Moeller for 40 years. In that span he has coached Barry Larkin and Ken Griffey, Jr., but the 2007 Crusaders might his best squad yet.
Moeller has been at the top of Division I for most of the season and for good reason. There are four major college signees on the team, led Ohio State recruits Alex Wimmers, Dan Burhart, and Dave Corna. The fourth is Oklahoma State-bound Tom Belza.

Cincinnati Country Day hosted the Cohen Memorial this past weekend. The event is held in honor of former CCD and Dayton player A.J. Cohen. CCD took the championship with a 7-2 victory over Indian Hill. Day pitcher Mike Peterson tossed a no-hitter.Former Tri-County North player Cody Holp was remembered recently when North and Franklin Monroe played at Dayton Dragons Fifth Third Field. Holp was a member of the Bluffton University baseball team and was killed when his team's bus crashed in Atlanta March 2. FM players presented North with $160 for the Cody Holp Memorial Fund prior to the game.
Basketball: North-South All-Star Game
Jon Diebler and Dallas Lauderdale served notice to Ohio State fans that replacements are on the way at the Ohio Coaches Association All-Star Game in Columbus.
With three current Buckeyes, Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Jr., and Daequan Cook poised for the NBA, Diebler and Lauderdale showed they are ready to step right in.
Playing together for the North, the duo provided a real show. Diebler dropped in 31 points and Lauderdale added 28, leading their squad to a 127-122 victory. McClain's Dante Jackson added 31 points, Jackson has signed with Xavier.
Big Buckeyes Play in the Big Apple
Two Ohio standouts were invited to the 2007 Jordan Brand All-American Classic. Kostas Koufos and Chris Wright traveled to New York City and Madison Square Garden for the event.
The 7-0 Koufos, who is expected to replace Oden next season at OSU, dropped in 14 points and snared eight rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Wright, a high-flying forward out of Trotwood Madison, also had 14 points and dished eight assists. Wright will be staying home next season, signing with the hometown Dayton Flyers.
Track Dynasty Just the Tip of the Iceberg
The Minster Lady Wildcats are known around the state for one thing; running. Since the 1975-76 track season, the Cats have won 12 state team titles and numerous individual state titles in track and field. Even with these amazing numbers Minster is just another member of the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) bringing home the hardware.
Since the MAC was formed in 1973, the conference has taken home 76 team titles - 87 if those won by schools before joining the MAC are included. The titles span seven sports both male and female. Eight of the current members have at least one title, with Minster's 20 and St. Henry's 19 leading the pack.
Tournament Draw
The baseball and softball tournament draw is scheduled for April 29. Coaches have already submitted their team's information for voting that will determine the seeds. From there the sectional brackets will be drawn out and tournament play will open on April 30 for softball and May 1 for baseball.
