CHICAGO – Every March, the NCAA Tournament reigns supreme and for good reason. The drama and storylines are impossible to beat. Adding to the excitement each year are the McDonald's All-American Game festivities that take place between the Sweet 16 and Final Four weekends.
Fans of teams that bow out early who have players in the game can use reports from the game to dream about how things will be better next year. Those who are still going can look ahead to how their team will continue to dominate after the injection of some highly-rated new blood.
It is a showcase of high school talent at the highest level and that it is closed off to all but a select few selection committee members, NBA personnel and media only adds to the excitement.
The 2022 game brings all that to the table and due to COVID, it is the first game to take place since 2019. This year, things have been moved up a day thanks to the game taking place on Tuesday instead of its usual Wednesday. Thanks to an abundance of caution, only Sunday mornings practice has been open to media while a Saturday practice session and Sunday scrimmage were closed off to all but family, the NBA and selection committee members.
