Dike-New Hartford (Iowa) had an unforgettable night as he etched his name into the Iowa state record books.
The 5-foot-6, 170-pound running back compiled 280 rushing yards against Southeast Valley in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs. And that was by halftime.
By game's end, Johnson recorded 432 rushing yards, seven touchdowns and became Iowa's all-time state leader in career rushing yards with 7,158,
according to the Des Moines Register.
He also powered the Wolverines to a 55-29 victory. Not a bad night at the office.
Johnson has rushed for over 2,400 yards on the season with 34 touchdowns.
An accomplished wrestler, Johnson finished as the state runner-up in the 145-pound weight class last season and owns an impressive 138-9 career record.
The Grand View University wrestling commit will lead the Wolverines into the second round of the playoffs next Friday against PCM.
