The Nebraska Coaches Association recently honored eight student-athletes with its Lincoln Country Inn & Suites Scholarship. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 award.

Holdrege (volleyball, basketball, track & field);
Jaci Brahmer,
Pierce (volleyball, basketball, track & field);
Jayden Marie Garrett,
Chadron (volleyball, basketball, track & field);
Riley Grosse-Rhode,
Fort Calhoun (football, baseball);
Ashton O'Brien,
Fillmore Central (Geneva) (volleyball, basketball, track & field);
McKenna Paintin,
Omaha Central (cross country, soccer, track & field); John Mark Shields,
Lexington (cross country, track & field);
Riley Tegtmeier,
Bruning-Davenport (football, basketball).
To be considered for the award, student-athletes must graduate in the upper 25% of their class or have a 3.75 grade-point average, must be at least a two-year participant in two sports, must have earned a varsity letter in two sports and have a minimum score of 24 on the ACT. They also must be recommended by a high school coach.
