COPPELL, Texas - the Cowboys scored 17 points in the second quarter to secure a big 31-0 victory over Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas) on Saturday.
Coppell scored on a
Charles West touchdown run and a
Colby Mahon touchdown pass to
Jason Lister in the quarter.
CHS was up 24-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Mahon touchdown pass to
Cameron Smith in the first quarter.
With the win the Cowboys extended their winning streak to eight games. Coppell defeated the Jaguars 27-18 last week.
Mahon played well for CHS in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
The Cowboys had given up an average of 10.9 points prior to the contest. The Marauders' zero points were well below their season average of 19.3 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Marcus, which notched a 24-21 victory over Lewisville in its previous outing.
In a 5A Region I District 5 game next week Coppell (8-0) takes on Ryan, and Marcus (2-6) will go up against Flower Mound also in a 5A Region I District 5 game.
