Only three boys teams in the 2022 CIF Basketball Championships have recorded wins in the state finals and only Modesto Christian has won more than once.
The Crusaders have a tough road to get a third win as they take on Centennial (Corona), the nation's No. 2 team in the Open Division final to conclude the two-day, 12-game event at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
Modesto Christian is 2-2, and Damien and Pleasant Valley each won its only state appearance. Otherwise it's goose eggs for the remaining nine teams. Seven teams are making their state final debuts.
Check back for all the scores from Sacramento, the CIF's first state basketball championships since 2019. Due to the global pandemic, the last two CIF title games were called off.
