Video: Sam Huard highlightsFreshman put up monster numbers in Washington's largest classification.
Kennedy Catholic (Burien) missed out on Washington's Class 4A state playoffs, but freshman quarterback
Sam Huard is giving the program plenty of reason for optimism going forward.
In the team's season finale against Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma) last week, Huard connected on 36 of 54 pass attempts for 535 yards and five touchdowns. Despite his efforts, Kennedy Catholic lost 42-32.
The son of former University of Washington star and 12-year NFL signal caller Damon Huard, Sam finished the season with 3,432 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Sam's uncle, Brock, also starred at Washington and played in the NFL before moving to the broadcast booth with ESPN.
Kennedy Catholic (6-4) relied on a pair of talented freshmen at wide receiver as well where
Jabez Tinae and
Lonyatta Alexander combined to pile up 2,137 yards and 20 touchdowns.
