The Brito Panthers will head out to challenge the Mater Academy Charter Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brito is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Brito was able to grind out a solid win over Schoolhouse Prep, taking the game 7-3. The Panthers have beaten the Wolfpack the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolfpack has come to flipping the script.

Cristopher Guzman was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Brito's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Raivon Pinder also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Brito was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Mater Academy Charter had just enough and edged out Lowndes 3-2 on Saturday. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Mater Academy Charter also got a great performance from Steven Gonzalez as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Yodelkis Quevedo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brandon Lorenzo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
The victory got Brito back to even at 3-3. As for Mater Academy Charter, their record now sits at 4-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Brito has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Mater Academy Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brito skirted past Mater Academy Charter 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
