CIF Southern Section Division 1 semifinals both featured in national Top 10 games.

The CIF Southern Section Division 1 bracket features the top two ranked teams in high school football and the will be playing in the championship for the fourth consecutive season on Nov. 30.

No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) handed Mission Viejo its first loss of the season with a 49-24 win and No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) beat Centennial (Corona) 52-14. These two Southern California powers played a month ago and the Monarchs won 38-24.

Ethan Garbers led No. 7 Corona del Mar to a 48-21 win over No. 14 Alemany (Mission Hills) setting up a Division 3 section championship showdown vs. No. 10 Grace Brethren (Simi Valley) who beat La Habra 49-45 in the other semifinal.

No. 6 Folsom suffered the biggest upset of the night losing to Monterey Trail (Elk Grove) 35-23 in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals.

No. 9 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) beat Rancho Cucamonga 24-13 and will play Chaminade (West Hills) in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 section championship.
