Mike Sinto's game-saving tackle of Holy Cross quarterback Kevin Durkan on the one-yard line, on the game’s final play, secured a 14-13 home victory for Holy Trinity.
Christopher Laviano was 11-for-15 for 65 yards through the air, and ran five times for 30 yards to lead the Titans. Sinto had two sacks for Holy Trinity, which improved to 5-1 (4-1 in CHSAA league play).

Patrick Dreiss gave Holy Trinity the lead.
Holy Trinity (Hicksville, N.Y.) coach Tony Mascia was pleased with the team’s final touchdown drive. “That was the drive of the game for us,” Mascia said. ”We were able to put the ball in the end zone, get the extra point, and take a lot of time off the clock.”
The Titans struck first in the second quarter when Cotrone, who ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns, ran it in from 28 yards out. Dreiss’s kick was perfect. After a Holy Trinity turnover on its next possession, the Knights took over on their own 10-yard line. Durkan capped off a 19-play, 90-yard drive with a 17-yard touchdown run. The teams finished the half knotted at 7-7.
After a blocked punt, Holy Cross found the end zone again in the third quarter. This time is was Durkan finding senior Adrian Palijevic for a 12-yard touchdown pass. The PAT failed leaving the Knights with a 13-7 lead.
The Titans will host St. Anthony at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 23rd in a rematch of last year’s CHSAA championship game.
