Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
For the season, Knueppel averaged 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per contest while shooting 59.4 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from 3-point range and 84.9 percent from the free throw line.

Knueppel notched a triple-double in an 80-59 state quarterfinal win over Racine Park (Racine) with 25 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds.
In his four-year career at Wisconsin Lutheran, Knueppel piled up 1,978 points, 808 rebounds and 398 assists while leading the Vikings to a 99-11 record.
Regarded as the No. 17 prospect in the Class of 2024 according to
247Sports, Knueppel signed with Duke in November over offers from Alabama, Illinois, Marquette, Ohio State, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia and Wisconsin among others.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which will be released April 10.
