MaxPreps National Team of the Week
Rockhurst High School (Kansas City, Mo.)
Rockhurst head coach Tony Severino seems to have taken the Pat Hill-Fresno State approach to scheduling this fall. “Anytime, anywhere” is the mindset as the Hawklets will have played teams from different four states by Oct. 10. The in-state lineup is daunting, as well.
So far, so good after two weeks. After hammering Blue Springs South last week in a battle of Missouri’s best, Rockhurst welcomed four-time defending state champion Hutchinson of Kansas.
The Hawklets prevailed, 28-21, thanks to a 51-yard touchdown pass from star quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase to Chris Castellucio with 8:30 remaining in the game. Scheelhaase, an Illinois verbal, finished with 199 yards through the air and another 92 on the ground.
“This was a huge win for us,” Scheelhaase said. “For one night I think the rest of Missouri was cheering for Rockhurst.”
The loss snapped a 36-game winning streak for Hutchinson.
MaxPreps.com’s Dean Backes has more on Rockhurst’s win over Hutchinson.

MaxPreps National Player of the Week
Aaron Green, RB, Madison (San Antonio, Texas)
Madison High School sophomore running back Aaron Green made this week’s decision an easy one. Green rushed for 428 yards and rushed for nine touchdowns Friday night in a 69-56 victory over Kerrville Tivy.
Green’s nine trips to the end zone – coming on runs of 1, 7, 12, 80, 13, 56, 12, 55 and 9 yards – marked a record in the city of San Antonio is arguably the most impressive individual performance anywhere in the country this season.
The sophomore picked up 396 of his 428 yards over the final three quarters.
Green piled up 125 yards and three touchdowns in Madison’s season opener against O’Connor, giving him 553 yards and 12 touchdowns through two games.
Tivy quarterback Colton Palmer also posted POTW-type numbers in the same game, throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns while rushing 69 more and three scores.
