The 6-foot, 170-pound senior-to-be had 86 catches for 1,708 yards and 21 touchdowns for the 8-4 Wildcats. Joyner, who has an offer from Army and interest from Clemson and East Carolina, had 10 catches for 157 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Hopewell last year.
Joyner did a lot more than catching the ball. He rushed 18 times for 87 yards, had 10 tackles on defense, intercepted a pass and was very effective as a kick and punt returner.
With incoming senior quarterback
Josh Ladowski returning, Lake Norman should be able to improve upon its 8-4 record of last season. Ladowski passed for 3,207 yards and 30 touchdowns last year with Joyner as his main receiver.
