1. Mountain Brook (Birmingham)
2013-14 finish: 34-3, Class 6A state champions
Head coach: Bucky McMillan

The Spartans are eyeing a three-peat after back-to-back 6A titles in 2013 and 2014. Mountain Brook took some hits via graduation but Tawarren Grant (6-2, Sr., G) and Jack Kline (6-4, Jr., F) return after making major contributions a year ago.

2. Carver (Montgomery)
2013-14 finish: 23-5, Class 6A semifinalist
Head coach: James Jackson

Alabama Crimson Tide commitment Brandon Austin is back after helping the Wolverines reach the 6A semifinals as a junior. Carver is 126-16 since 2009 with a title in 2012 and championship game appearance in 2010.

3. Theodore
2013-14 finish: 23-4, Class 6A regional finalist
Head coach: Phillip Roebling

Alabama head coach Anthony Grant is clearly getting it done in-state. Theodore also has a Crimson Tide pledge leading the way in Dazon Ingram (6-5, Sr., G), who averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior.

4. Tuscaloosa County (Northport)
2013-14 finish: 23-5
Head coach: Curt Weeks

Eight players are back from last year's team, which bowed out in disappointing fashion early in the 6A tournament. The Wildcats hope to make a much deeper run in 2014-15 behind Murray State verbal commitment Justice Green (6-3, Sr., G).

5. Luverne
2013-14 finish: 25-3, Class 2A runner-up
Head coach: Richard Dorsey

Yet another Alabama commitment, 6-foot-9 Donta Hall, leads the Tigers. The Mr. Basketball candidate averaged 11.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.7 blocked shots per game as a junior.
