The high school football season in South Dakota came to a close over the weekend.
Harrisburg was among the victors with a 27-0 win over Brandon Valley in the Class 11AAA state championship game. That victory helped propel the Tigers to the No. 1 ranking in the final South Dakota MaxPreps Top 25.

Jacob Knuth led a high-powered Harrisburg (12-0) offense all year, throwing for 2,401 yards and accounting for 41 touchdowns as the Tigers averaged over 40 points per game. Running back
Gavin Ross piled up 224 yards on the ground in the title game victory.
Harrisburg brought home its first state championship since 1999 and fifth overall going back to 1984.
Two more undefeated teams,
Winner and
Madison, claimed the next two spots in the final rankings. Winner, which has won 23 straight games, captured the Class 11B state title while Madison captured the Class 11A crown.
