Video: Photo Shoot - No. 19 St. Joseph's Prep
See all the fun we had with Pennsylvania's most dominant program during an Early Contenders photo shoot. When it comes to naming the most dominant Pennsylvania football program since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports, it's as tight a race as can be.
St. Joseph's Prep edged Archbishop Wood by a single point to earn the title of most dominant. Reaching the Top 25 in the computer rankings every year except one since 2006 was the ticket to the top for the Hawks. It helped them overcome the fact that Archbishop Wood has one more title and three more total state title game appearances.
Here is how the points break down:
1. 20 for a state title
2. 10 for a state championship game appearance
3.
Other points are based on where a team finished in the final
MaxPreps Pennsylvania Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive
25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No
points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
