For the third week, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) remains atop the Composite Top 25 rankings, the same spot the Braves sit at in the MaxPreps Xcellent Top 25 rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Behind St. John Bosco are Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), just as they've been all season. The Ascenders closed the gap for the second straight week and are tied with the Monarchs at No. 2. IMG is ranked 1 in two polls, while Mater Dei is ranked 1 in a single poll.
St. John's (Washington, D.C.) leaps past Allen (Texas) for the No. 4 spot after a impressive win over Hoover (Ala.) in a lightning-delayed game. The Eagles reside at No. 5.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
