Franklin has gone 9-1 against Kenosha Tremper recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Sabers will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Franklin will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Kenosha Bradford, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Sabers were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Devils on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sabers.
Melanie Gavin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Ella Anderson was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Ava Nowak also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Kenosha Tremper, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They had just enough and edged out Wilmot 9-7. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Mallory Meier, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Rocha, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
Kenosha Tremper picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Franklin, their record now sits at 4-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Franklin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like Kenosha Tremper struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Franklin beat Kenosha Tremper 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sabers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
