Corner (Warrior, Ala.) set a state record last Friday when it held Vincent (Ala.) to minus-47 offensive yards in a 63-6 victory.
According to the North Jefferson News, the Alabama High School Athletic Association verified that the total was a state record for defensive dominance.
Vincent tallied zero pass yards and minus-47 rushing yards. While the National Football League counts sacks as passing yardage, in high school they go toward rushing yard stats.
"The defense played with great emotion and
followed their keys to hold Vincent to short gains," Corner coach Zac
Willis told the newspaper. "We had some key sacks that led to the negative yardage.
I'm proud of our guys and what they have achieved."
