The Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Elmwood Park. Illinois Math & Science Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elmwood Park apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Elmwood Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Boatman, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Angelo Bernard, who scored 12 points.
Illinois Math & Science Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Elmwood Park, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15.
Illinois Math & Science Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against LaMoille at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully LaMoille focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Saturday. As for Elmwood Park, they will be playing at home against St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
