St. Louis, Missouri, has a state championship that Mike and I are going to watch on Friday night between Blue Springs South, #5 in our national rankings and #1 in the state of Missouri, and Christian Brothers, who are 11-1 and #11 in the state. Being in Chicago, Illinois, we were very close to this week's destination and thought that it would be a good idea to get acquainted with our surroundings a little earlier.
Tomorrow we are going to Christian Brothers where we will talk with Coach Bob Shannon and some of his boys about their huge matchup against the state's #1 team. They are coming into the game with an 11-game winning streak and confidence that they could beat anybody. Their RB, named Rayon Simmons, is coming off a week where he ran for 161 yards and 3 TD's in a semifinal shootout against Melville High School from St. Louis, MO.
We finally got everything fixed with our RV and can't wait to see the state championships on Friday night at the Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO. These games are played with such emotion for nothing but pride and bragging rights. This is what makes high school sports so great, and being able to see the joy and the pain during and after a game reminds me of why high school sports are such a national phenomenon.
With Maxpreps.com you have a front row seat for this phenomenon, so we will keep you in our thought if you keep us in your browser. (Steve Spiewack said this to me, so I have to give credit where credit is due.)
