The Tennessee Vikings lost against the Abingdon Falcons on January 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Tennessee took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abingdon. It was the first time this season that Tennessee let down their fans at home.
Tennessee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addie Wilhoit, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyanah Foote, who scored 12 points.
Tennessee's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-8. As for Abingdon, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Tennessee will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sullivan East at 6:30 p.m. Abingdon will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Gate City at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. Gate City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Abingdon is ranked 37th).
