Carlsbad enters the inaugural MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown as one of Southern California's premier programs after winning the Avocado League title and finishing 20-6 last season.
The Lancers were eliminated in the first round of the San Diego Section Division I playoffs but claimed several quality victories during the regular season. The nucleus of the team helped Carlsbad reach the San Diego Section final in 2024.
Carlsbad returns a veteran core led by junior quarterback
Courtney Clemons, who threw for 4,776 yards and 68 touchdowns while completing 62 percent of her pass attempts. A standout softball player, Clemons fuels an offense featuring senior
Georgia Hawk, who totaled 1,624 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns, and
Amanda Aldover, who added 636 receiving yards and six scores.

The defense is equally experienced with junior
Analeigha Cavaluzzi anchoring a unit that tallied 37 sacks and 40 interceptions in 2025.
Incoming sophomores
Kayla Posada and
Hudson Cassaro, along with freshman
Reese Paxton — daughter of former NFL long snapper Lonie Paxton — should add depth to a roster that improved from 15-10-1 and section runner-up in 2024.
"I think our best flag football is ahead of us this season because of a bit of the youth movement that we have," offensive coordinator Jeremy Clemons said. "We're taking on all comers and hopefully by the end of the season, that experience with a lot of our younger players and playing such a tough schedule will pay some dividends."
